Kevin Lacroix is a well rounded, personable, experienced professional engineer (P.Eng.) who has been in the steel building industry since 1994.
He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1996 and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Civil Engineering. In 2003, he completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to manage engineering and sales groups, fabrication shops, and various other purchasing activities.
He started his career gaining over 18 years experience in pre-engineered building sales, design and manufacturing for building projects throughout North America.
After moving to British Columbia in 2011, Kevin learned what it was like to be in the customer's seat as a Sr. Project Manager for various steel buildings and steel structures in Alberta's oil sands.
He then spent 5 years in an ownership role at an established steel erecting business operating across western Canada and was able to close the circle on an entire steel building industry.
Since establishing Notch1 Management Ltd. in 2018, he has focused on helping companies in the supply chain for steel buildings and other steel structures. Whether it is designing the entire steel building or just the exterior cladding system or steel deck, he can help the manufacturers. Construction management companies are served by field inspections, steel stud and suspended ceiling design, seismic restraint, and other after market design services. Erectors can benefit from construction sequence planning, lift planning and rigging design, or temporary bracing.
Throughout the years, Kevin served 7 years on the Board of Directors of a children's mental health organization. He shared his experiences helping others as a three-time assistant business coach with the Dale Carnegie organization, as a speaker for the School of Business at Wilfrid Laurier University, and served on the Board of Directors of the Abbotsford Flying Club and YXX Hangar Rentals Ltd.
He regularly volunteers for First Flights for Kids events giving many children their first experience in an airplane.
Kevin is a black belt in karate, has a pilot licence, and knows the importance of successfully combining patience, practice, care and discipline into everything he does both in and out of the office.
Kevin is a Qualified Fall Protection Engineer and has received training from 3M to help ensure the proper design of complex fall arrest systems in what can be a confusing industry.
Notch1 Management Ltd. is the result of years of training and hard work, experiences from both successes and failures, and serves as a platform to keep on helping others.
